Blackened: Metallica x Dave Pickerell

How it came to be :

Call me a dork if you want LOL, but I truly think that master distillers -blenders- heck! MAD HATTERS are just a straight different level of brilliance. Having the ability to conjure up concoctions that convey a symphony in liquid gold. EPIC! Blackened was created bringing together rye, bourbon, and whiskey. What’s even more magical ( again, I’m a dork- but it’s the little things that make me happy) through the process of using sound reverberations to extrapolate and infuse flavor. Rob Dietrich calls this process Black Noise.

AROMATIC PROFILE: Allspice, apricot, cinnamon, clove, and mint

I CAN TASTE: Clove, Mint, and Cinnamon- for some reason it reminds me of the advent of the winter holiday season.

WHAT I PAID FOR IT: About $45-50

HOW I DRINK IT? I’m an “on the rocks” type gal. However, this is beauty will make fire manhattans and old fashioned. Amp it up using charred orange peel and smoke. You’re friends will keep coming back your place and drinking up all your booze LOL!!

RECOMMEND/PASS: RECOMMEND!!!

This is probable one of the last projects we can enjoy from the late Dave Pickerell who is just an icon in this realm. I recommend this to be a staple in your bar. If you are venturing into the rye world this is a definite segue to help you there. Again, this is bang for your buck people!
